Blog 5- Belfast after dark
Belfast offers a dynamic and diverse nightlife steeped in history, be it local pubs, bars with live music, or vibrant clubs...there is something for everyone.
Fancy a pint of Guinness then follow this pub crawl to try all the spots that do a mean pint of the black stuff. Start off at Kelly's Cellars, one of the oldest pubs in Belfast, which opened in 1720. Why not grab a pint and hunker down on one of the stools and enjoy an evening of music from the live bands that play every night from 9 p.m. Then continue to White’s Tavern, another ancient gem of Belfast that has been opened since 1630, here they have been pouring Guinness longer than a lifetime.
If you want to continue exploring the pubs go around the corner to Cathedral Quarter. Here are some of the must-visit pubs in this cobblestoned part of town:
- Duke of York
- The Harp
- Dirty Onion
- The Spaniard
- Thirsty Goat
What I hope you have taken from the entirety of this blog is that Belfast has it all, culture history, and craic! From its iconic landmarks such as Nula with the Hula to its warm and welcoming locals, the city is a must-see destination whether you live an hour away or halfway across the world. The trip will be worth it!

I’ve heard a lot about the dirty onion, hopefully I can come over to belfast soon to experience a night out there! Won’t catch me having a Guinness tho 🤣
